Canal View-Houghton County Medical Care Facility, a 197-bed skilled nursing facility, provides 24-hour extended care. We provide personal and dignified care to all of our residents. Our qualified staff strives to help each person reach their highest level of functioning. We are proud to provide an extended care option that allows people to stay in the local area. We provide responsible care to all, regardless of ability to pay. Our facility is certified to provide both Medicare and Medicaid approved services. Your loved one will be surrounded by our friendly staff and volunteers in a community with a home like atmosphere. Our newly renovated facility is full air conditioned and fully sprinkled. We offer semi private and private rooms. Residents enjoy nutritious meals and can take part in daily activities. We provide resident family rooms, an outdoor courtyard and patio, and a chapel for interfaith services. A resident council meets monthly to offer suggestions, and to promote ideas that can enhance services offered to our residents. Hospice services are also available. Woodland Haven provides separate accommodations for 28 of our residents in the early to middle stages of Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Each of the two 14-bed homes includes its own kitchen, activity space, dining room and living room, with the layout and furnishings of a traditional home.
