  • If a reservation is cancelled or the length of stay is reduced within seven (7) days of arrival, the deposit is forfeited and non-refundable

Travel the Exhibits

Passports showing the company name of each exhibitor that participates will be printed and distributed to attendees. When attendees visit each booth listed on their passports, they should present the card and ask the vendor to initial over their company’s name. Completed passports will be handed in and placed in a drawing. Passports will be drawn and prizes given following the close of the vendor exhibit. (pending vendor ’s agreement to participate).

Silent Auction

Wednesday, June 14 from 5 to 8 pm 

Our scholarships have helped to provide more than $10,000 to MCMCFC member employees or their family members to advance their education. We are, once again, asking for you to donate to our annual silent auction. Popular silent auction items include: travel vouchers, gift baskets, and home decor.

Please send donation information by June 2, 2023, to Tammi Connell, at conference@mcmcfc.org, Be sure to include a short description of the item and the donation value. All proceeds from donations go to the Gary Easton Scholarship Fund.

All cancellations must be submitted to MCMCFC in writing on or before June 2, 2023. Registrant will receive refund minus an administrative fee of $100. No refunds will be issued if canceled after June 2, 2023.

He performed IDR, IIDR, and Bureau of Professional Licensing case review for MPRO for 12 plus years. Currently Doug works as a Healthcare Consultant and Educator for Lebenbom and Rothman Consulting. Doug also possess Certification as a Director of Nursing in LTC from NADONA, RAC-CT from AAPACN, and possesses a MI R.N. and Nursing Home Administrator License.

Jill Harding has been in long-term care for over 22 years in various departments throughout skilled nursing facilities. Jill has been a Registered Nurse for the past 12 years. Over the last 8 years, she served as an Administrator in For Profit and Nonprofit Homes including a County Owned Medical Care Facility.

Jill recently became a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and is very passionate about both sides of our healthcare industry from a regulatory and healthcare legal perspective.

Session Description:

We closed the chapter on the Public Health Emergency (PHE). As we turn to the next page, we find the landscape completely different. We find the residents who need long-term care have much higher acuity levels and behavioral needs than just three years ago. We no longer recognize the workforce and their needs. And we find the regulatory environment a maze. Work side-by-side with one another as you learn to analyze who is awaiting your services and plan to meet their needs. Explore how to get to know the new workforce and meet their needs. Learn how to write a successful plan of correction.

Consulting services include but not limited to; market studies, financial feasibility, reimbursement analyses, cost report preparation, operations, and strategic planning. Jon has provided these consulting services to numerous post-acute, long-term care, continuing care retirement communities, and hospital long-term care facilities involved in an expansion of services and other asset repositioning strategies in the State of Michigan and the Midwest Region. He has also performed reimbursement analysis including preparation of Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for senior living Skilled Nursing Facilities including multi-facility organizations, and Home Health & Hospice providers, and benchmarking analysis. Jon is also the Plante Moran firm liaison for development and maintenance of the Plante Moran EDGE benchmarking and market integration databases. Jon received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University with a major in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Walsh College.

This session will look at the changes in current and future Michigan Medicaid reimbursement environment and provide insight on the potential change to the current Medicaid cost-based reimbursement system, and the impact that it may have on skilled nursing facilities (SNF) operators. It will also cover the FY 2023 update to Medicare reimbursement, the Patient-Driven Payment Model, and the Value-Based Purchasing Program (VBP). Further, it will discuss the impact of the growth in managed care utilization and market penetration and review State and regional managed care utilization and market penetration data.

Jennifer Belden is the Director for the Bureau of Survey and Certification, at LARA. In her role, she oversees the federal survey and certification process for both long-term care as well as acute and continuing care facilities in the state of Michigan. Jennifer brings over a decade of healthcare experience in acute and continuing care and is passionate about leveraging respectful and empathic dialogue to achieve mutual purpose. She holds a BA in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University as well as a Master of Science degree from Trine University with a specialization in Healthcare Administration. Jennifer has received extensive communication training including several certificates in conflict resolution, positive psychology, restorative justice practices, and Bridges to Healthcare. She also holds a board certification as a Patient Experience Professional (CPXP).

The Bureau of Survey and Certification (BSC) is responsible for performing federal regulatory duties on behalf of the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS). The bureau has oversight of the federal survey and certification process for over 20 healthcare provider types. Functions of BSC include federal complaint investigations, routine annual surveys, and monitoring and enforcement of federal regulations which serve to protect the health, safety, and quality of care received by Michigan residents. This session will cover changes to the that oversight, the goals of the BSC, and improvements to quality.

The cost is $95 per person. This price includes green fees, cart rental, beverages, prizes and a donation to the Gary Easton Scholarship Fund.

This event is open to attendees and vendors. Anyone not registering as a foursome will be placed with other individuals (conference attendees and/or vendors alike) to assemble a foursome. Though every effort will be made to ensure a good mix of attendees and vendors for each foursome, final foursome groupings are not guaranteed.

Mulligans - We will be offering mulligans at a cost of $5 each. Proceeds for the purchase of a mulligan (considered a "do-over") is donated to the Gary Easton Scholarship Fund. Each purchased mulligan allows one player (not team) to take a "do-over." For each player who takes a mulligan, it will require one mulligan per attempt.
