The Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council has announced the recipients of its 2026 Gary Easton MCMCFC Scholarship Awards.

Fourteen (14) people were chosen from 42 applicants to receive awards in 2026. Recipients must be enrolled in a health-related program and be an employee of a Medical Care Facility (MCF) or related to an employee.

“America remains in a staffing crisis for long-term care,” noted Gary Easton, for whom the scholarships are named and a former MCF administrator, “so it is essential that the industry focus on fostering careers in our field in every possible way. This is MCMCFC’s small contribution to those efforts for our communities and our state.”

In May 2000, the council created a scholarship fund called the MCMCFC Scholarship Fund. In 2018, this fund was renamed the Gary Easton MCMCFC Scholarship Fund.

Between these its two scholarship programs, MCMCFC has awarded approximately $230,000 in scholarship monies benefiting nearly 265 students.
